Overview of all new features directly in the system

After an update, users will automatically receive a pop-up window with a compact overview of all new features in the current version. This allows you to see which functions have been added or improved right from the start—without having to search for them.

The new overview provides greater transparency, makes it easier to find your way around after updates, and helps you use new features more quickly in your everyday work.

Improved data protection through restricted hit display

To further strengthen the protection of personal data, it can be configured so that the visitor search for employees only displays results after a defined minimum number of characters have been entered.

Administrators can flexibly set this minimum number in the system. For users, this means that visitors who have already been created, for example, will only be visible after three characters have been entered. This prevents personal data from being displayed after just one or two characters.

This adjustment helps companies to design search functions that are GDPR-compliant, secure, and individually adapted to their own security requirements.

Flexible configuration of content within elements in the new cockpit

The new cockpit and cockpit card configuration give administrators more control over how content is displayed. Element content can now be configured individually so that only the information and icons that are really needed are displayed.

The result is a clearer cockpit, reduced complexity for users, and an interface that can be optimally adapted to different roles and their requirements.

Notification before access bans expire

To make it easier to manage access bans, the system can now automatically notify users before an access ban expires. The notification is sent to a configurable email address or a defined group.

This allows sufficient time to extend or delete an access ban if necessary. This ensures greater transparency, less manual effort, and reliable control of security-related settings.

Reasons for access bans now selectable

When creating an access ban, predefined reasons can now be selected from a drop-down menu. These standard reasons can be individually configured by administrators.

This simplifies data entry, ensures consistent reasoning, and improves the evaluability of access bans in the system.

New on-screen keyboard for self-registration

A new, optimized on-screen keyboard is now available for self-registration. The redesigned keyboard is more clearly structured and makes touch input easier.

The new keyboard ensures more convenient, intuitive use and reduces input errors during self-registration.

Quick start for self-registration with PIN or QR code

Self-registration can now be used even more efficiently. After selecting their language, visitors can now be asked directly whether they have a PIN or QR code. After entering or scanning the access code, they are immediately taken to the corresponding visit.

This eliminates the need to select the organizational unit and search for the correct entry point. The result: faster registration, fewer clicks, and a much more intuitive process for visitors.

New entry point “Access via customizable field” for visitor self-registration

Self-registration is now even more flexible: Visitors will now also be able to register via an customizable field (visitor/visitor on a visit) if they do not have their QR code to hand.

This provides an additional option for quickly finding the right visit – even if the QR code has been forgotten.

This enhancement ensures greater flexibility, reduces waiting times, and makes self-registration even more user-friendly.

New entry point “Access via identification medium” for self-registration

Self-registration now offers convenient access via identification medium. Visitors and truck drivers can quickly and easily identify themselves with their passport.

The data read is used to automatically search for the corresponding visit. If there is a clear match, self-registration can continue immediately. This speeds up the check-in process, reduces input errors, and ensures reliable assignment of visitor data. This is particularly advantageous for tradespeople and truck drivers, as they often do not have a business email address to which a QR code can be sent.

Face matching to verify identity

To verify identity during self-registration, a comparison of the visitor’s photo with an ID document can now be carried out. Only if the camera image matches the ID photo will the registration process continue successfully.

This ensures that self-registration is only carried out by the authorized person. This additional check helps to further increase security for visitors and the location.

Kiosk system URL now available as QR code

The URL of a kiosk system can now be displayed as a QR code. When configuring and setting up kiosk systems, administrators can conveniently scan the QR code with a tablet without having to enter the URL manually. This saves time, minimizes input errors, and facilitates access, especially during the configuration and testing phase.

Multiple external access control systems per location

Over the years, many companies have developed a heterogeneous system landscape – especially in the area of access control. Different buildings, extensions, or security requirements mean that multiple external access control systems are used in parallel at a single location. Administrators in VISIT can now create multiple external access control systems for a single location. Visitors will continue to receive only one ID card per visit. The expansion contributes to more efficient support for demanding security environments.

Automated provisioning: SCIM is supported

With SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management), users and employees can be synchronized automatically via connected identity providers. Microsoft Entra ID allows user accounts to be managed centrally and created, updated, or deactivated automatically. Changes in the identity provider are transferred directly to VISIT, ensuring that user management is always up to date. This significantly reduces manual administration, increases security through consistent access control, and enables efficient user lifecycle management—from onboarding to offboarding.

You can now use the new Outlook Web Add-in, which provides all the functions of the pre-registration page directly in Outlook, platform-independent and easily rollable out via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. This requires Outlook in the Microsoft 365 version (new or classic) with API version V1.15.

Employee verification during self-registration with ID number or scan

It often happens that employees forget their access cards and are therefore unable to open doors. Employees can already register using their ID number via self-registration. To reliably verify their identity, an ID card can now also be scanned. If the data matches, a standard replacement ID card can be issued.

New positioning aid for taking visitor photos

A live positioning aid is now available to help visitors quickly and easily take a reusable photo. It shows directly during the shot whether the position is correct – for perfect photos without subsequent corrections.

New overview for training coordinators – pending training courses now directly viewable

Planning will become much easier for training coordinators in the future: From now on, not only can training courses that have already been completed be viewed in the information system, but also all pending training courses – for both visitors and employees.

The new cockpit is here!

After intensive work, we would now like to present our new cockpit to you. It provides plant maintenance engineers with a central overview of all visits that have been pre-registered, have arrived, or have begun. From here, it is possible to open and edit individual visits, start pre-registered and arrived visits, or end visits that have already begun.

To ensure a smooth workflow, the user is supported by filters, a search field, and quick filter buttons for pending actions. In addition, you can configure in detail which information about visits is displayed on the cockpit.

New hardware connection

The W&T relay can now be configured for digital outputs. The setup is similar to the previous procedure: A digital output is created in the CDM, e.g., to switch a barrier, an elevator, or an acoustic signal, which can then be used, for example, when reading a QR code or after self-registration. The W&T relay offers up to eight switchable outputs.

Do emails reminding your visitors to attend training sessions tend to get lost in their inboxes?

VISIT now automatically ensures that your participants are reminded of upcoming training sessions. Thanks to individually adjustable intervals, open training sessions are reliably reminded – you save time, increase commitment, and can be sure that training sessions will be completed.

Training courses can now also be created and maintained by users with the appropriate authorization. To do this, training courses should be restricted to locations and organizational units.

Important change: Basic Authentication for SMTP in Microsoft Exchange Online will be discontinued

Microsoft has announced that support for Basic Authentication for the SMTP client submission service (SMTP AUTH) in Exchange Online will be permanently discontinued from September 2025.

In order to meet future security and modernisation requirements, we strongly recommend switching to the Microsoft Graph API in combination with OAuth2. This modern authentication procedure not only offers more security, but also a future-proof basis for sending emails from VISIT.
Please plan the changeover in good time to ensure a smooth transition.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) via e-mail

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) via e-mail is now available for even more security when logging in to VISIT. Users receive a confirmation code to their registered e-mail address, which must be entered in addition to the regular login. This method offers a simple but effective addition to the protection of your accounts.

Maximum visit duration now per visit type

Previously, the maximum visit duration was set at the location and therefore applied to all visit types at the location. We have now created more flexibility for different visit types: The maximum duration of a visit can now be configured per visit type, as a job interview, for example, should not last longer than a day, but tradespeople may well be granted access for a few weeks.

As a receptionist, would you like to avoid long queues and, ideally, print out visitor tickets in advance so that large groups of visitors can be processed efficiently and quickly at reception? Then this further development could be of interest to you:

Our system now supports the automatic capture of academic titles directly from the visitor’s ID document – provided that this information is contained in the document and the corresponding function is activated in your configuration. The ID document reader recognises the title and transfers it seamlessly to the visitor management system.

When searching for employees during self-registration, it is now possible to configure which entries (first name, surname) should be requested from the visitor. It is also possible to define which of these fields must match the data record exactly in order to carry out the identification clearly and in compliance with data protection regulations.

Renew safety briefing before expiry of validity

Some visitors, such as permanent tradesmen, receive access authorisation over a long period of time. In this case, it is often the case that their safety briefing loses its validity in the meantime. Without a timely reminder, this can lead to unexpected access blocks for visitors and thus to unnecessary delays.

To ensure smooth access for visitors, it is now possible to configure how many days before expiry a safety briefing can be refreshed. In addition, visitors can be informed of renewed safety instructions by means of an automatic notification. This leaves enough time to renew the safety briefing in good time in the online check-in or at the kiosk terminal, thus ensuring uninterrupted access.

More efficient on-site check-in by signing online in advance

From now on, visitors can sign directly after the security briefing in the online check-in – quickly, easily and directly on their own device. This eliminates the need to sign at the kiosk or signature pad on site, making the check-in process even more efficient.

Thanks to the intuitive touch & mouse support, the signature can be entered directly by the visitor without additional hardware. The new function also adapts dynamically to different end devices – whether smartphone, tablet or PC.

User accounts can be set to inactive

You can now set user accounts to inactive in VISIT. This was previously only possible for employees. For example, if you use an account with the role of reception, where the person is not in the company for some time and should therefore no longer receive any notifications and should also no longer be able to log in, this is now possible in VISIT.

Campus solution: different corporate designs in the same VISIT system

There is also interesting news for our customers who share a VISIT in several companies, for example because they are all located in the same building with a shared entrance: It is now possible to create different corporate designs for the various organisational units in VISIT. This allows you to utilise the advantages of a VISIT system, but at the same time use the data and corporate designs completely separately.

Delayed or temporary blocking after incorrect login attempts

Increased IT security options when logging in manually: Manual login can now be delayed or temporarily blocked after unsuccessful attempts. This was previously only possible with a complete block. This allows you to prevent brute force attacks and significantly reduce your administrative workload at the same time.

Online check-in: Format specification for licence plate entry to avoid errors

More and more customers are using VISIT in conjunction with a licence plate recognition system to open barriers automatically.

For licence plate recognition to work smoothly, it is important that the licence plate is entered in a specific format so that the match can be checked.

Particularly with online check-in, where visitors enter their data themselves, errors can occur if the specified format does not match. With the latest VISIT extension, administrators can specify the format in VISIT. Visitors then no longer have the option of entering the licence plate number in a format other than the one specified. This means that nothing stands in the way of efficient processing.

Extensions in the catering area: Ordering for visits lasting several days

If you create visits over several days, you now have the option of entering an alternative date in addition to the time. This supports you perfectly in managing the catering for your visit.

We now guarantee an even higher standard of security when employees log in.

It is now possible for employees to log in to the kiosk using their RFID badge and no longer just their badge number. The entry point can be added to the kiosk workflow in the VISIT web interface via the ‘Employee login’ login type and the ‘Entry via ID card’ entry point.

VISIT gets more international: In order to continuously improve the requirements for VISIT self-service and online check-in in the area of delivery traffic and visitor processing, VISIT has been expanded to include the visitor languages Bosnian, Greek and Serbian.

Digital visitor’s pass

If you would like to print fewer visitor passes, this new feature could be of interest to you:
A visitor registers on site via self-registration. In VISIT, you can now set a configurable e-mail including a QR code to be sent to the visitor after self-registration at a terminal. This digital QR code can then be used to make bookings at VISIT terminals, which means that a printed visitor ticket is no longer necessary.

Further development of license plate recognition: Select the correct license plate or have it read again
Good news for all customers who use a license plate recognition system: Even if the license plate is covered with dirt or snow, this will no longer cause any problems in the workflow in future thanks to a further development in VISIT. The new option of having to confirm your own license plate number directly at the start of registration at the kiosk ensures that the license plate number has been correctly recognized. This allows the visitor to confirm their license plate or alternatively have the option of cleaning it or repositioning the vehicle in front of the camera so that the license plate can be recognized correctly.

License plate as part of the application

The option of confirming the license plate number within the workflow can also be used in combination with the entry point of an individual field, for example. For example, a supplier can log in to the kiosk using a delivery number and directly confirm the license plate number recognized by the license plate recognition system.

If you regularly have trucks on your company premises, you will know how important it is to ensure that all vehicles present on the premises run smoothly.

Automatic termination of access authorization

In order to prevent a truck from re-entering after the scheduled deliveries have been completed, exit barriers (exit terminals) can now be configured so that they automatically terminate the access authorization with the exit.

Multiple entry including final exit

If a truck has to drive through several barriers for delivery or collection – for example, because it has to leave the delivery area after each transport order – it must be allowed to enter and exit several times. The final exit at a special exit barrier then revokes access authorization, which can prevent the truck from remaining on the company premises.
