Important change: Basic Authentication for SMTP in Microsoft Exchange Online will be discontinued

Microsoft has announced that support for Basic Authentication for the SMTP client submission service (SMTP AUTH) in Exchange Online will be permanently discontinued from September 2025.

In order to meet future security and modernisation requirements, we strongly recommend switching to the Microsoft Graph API in combination with OAuth2. This modern authentication procedure not only offers more security, but also a future-proof basis for sending emails from VISIT.
Please plan the changeover in good time to ensure a smooth transition.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) via e-mail

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) via e-mail is now available for even more security when logging in to VISIT. Users receive a confirmation code to their registered e-mail address, which must be entered in addition to the regular login. This method offers a simple but effective addition to the protection of your accounts.

Maximum visit duration now per visit type

Previously, the maximum visit duration was set at the location and therefore applied to all visit types at the location. We have now created more flexibility for different visit types: The maximum duration of a visit can now be configured per visit type, as a job interview, for example, should not last longer than a day, but tradespeople may well be granted access for a few weeks.

Photo upload for visitors

As a receptionist, would you like to avoid long queues and, ideally, print out visitor tickets in advance so that large groups of visitors can be processed efficiently and quickly at reception? Then this further development could be of interest to you:

With version 16.5, it is now possible to upload existing photos when processing a visitor.

Transfer academic title from ID document

Our system now supports the automatic capture of academic titles directly from the visitor’s ID document – provided that this information is contained in the document and the corresponding function is activated in your configuration. The ID document reader recognises the title and transfers it seamlessly to the visitor management system.

VISIT Self-Service

Flexible configuration of employee search

When searching for employees during self-registration, it is now possible to configure which entries (first name, surname) should be requested from the visitor. It is also possible to define which of these fields must match the data record exactly in order to carry out the identification clearly and in compliance with data protection regulations.
