Data protection

The protection of your privacy is a top priority in our company. Compliance with statutory data protection regulations is therefore a matter of course for us.

We would like you to know exactly what data we collect via our website, how and when we store it and how we use it. As our websites are created and managed in Germany, the legal provisions of the Federal Republic of Germany apply to the processing of personal data.

What happens when you visit our website?

Naturally, we are interested in further developing our website in line with your wishes. To this end, we would like to know which pages and information are of particular interest to you and what you may be less interested in. Your visit to our website does not generally leave behind any information that would allow us to draw direct conclusions about individual persons. By default, the following data is transmitted via an http connection

  • IP address of the visitor
  • The visitor’s operating system and browser
  • Data and time of the visit
  • Country/place of origin of the visitor
  • Visitor source (referring website)

In order to improve the use of our website, we may collect the following additional information:

  • Pages viewed on our website
  • User behaviour on our site

The data collected is stored securely on the basis of our security policy – only a few authorised persons within our company have access to this data and it goes without saying that the data is not passed on to third parties. Analyses are always carried out promptly and completely anonymised. The data is completely deleted after it has been analysed.

In order to better understand what interests visitors to our websites and whether they find their way around, we use the open source analysis tool Matomo (formerly Piwik), a service provided by InnoCraft Ltd, 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand, NZBN 6106769.

As Matomo is hosted on our server, this data never leaves our area of responsibility.

The protection of your data is important to us, which is why we only collect technically necessary cookies and have configured Matomo so that your IP address is truncated. We therefore process your personal usage data in anonymised form for the majority of your visit to our website. It is not possible for us to draw any conclusions about you personally. You can find further information on Matomo’s terms of use and data protection regulations at: https://matomo.org/privacy/

If you do not want your visits to our websites to be recorded, you can activate the ‘Do not track’ option in your browser and Matomo will not record any data from you. You can deactivate the visit statistics by clicking on the above link. To do this, an opt-out cookie is set in your browser, which deactivates tracking.
