Visitor badges are ubiquitous in companies today: made of paper or plastic, with additional functions such as an image, RFID chip, QR code or barcode. In large companies in particular, it's not just about security, but also about efficient creation and administration, the company's own image and the functions associated with the badge.
Create visitor badges
Visitor ID cards come in various forms, for example plastic in cheque card format, paper (with or without a plastic sleeve) or as stickers. They are available plain, with a pin on a lanyard or with a different attachment. In principle, such visitor cards can also be purchased in advance and then filled in by hand. However, this not only involves a lot of manual labour, it also looks unprofessional and you can’t integrate graphics such as photos.
With our visitor management software, data and, if necessary, a passport photo can be collected electronically during the pre-registration process and automatically printed on a visitor pass. Even a printout directly at a self-service terminal or a virtual visitor badge on a smartphone is possible. VISIT allows you to customise your visitor badge according to your template.
Visitor passes: Functions
The basic function of a visitor badge is to allow employees to identify a visitor and check their authorisation to stay in a certain area.
In addition, RFID chips, QR codes and barcodes can be used on the access control readers to allow – or deny – visitors access to certain areas at certain times. The integration of a payment function, for example for the canteen, is also possible as an additional function.
At the exit checkpoint, visitor badges can be automatically collected again by a swipe reader. The data of visitors whose badges have not yet been returned can also be included in the evacuation lists created for emergencies.
